Theatre Replacement shortlisted

's Maiko Yamamoto and James Long, both SCA alumni and frequent SCA instructors, have been shortlisted the , the biggest theatre prize in the country, worth $100,000.

Janet Smith in the Georgia Straight did a of their work for the announcement, highlighting their recurring and popular , which is produced in partnership with , their smart  project, the "staged conversation" , which they co-produced with , and their latest show, .

Featuring SCA BFA alumni as a gamer/performer and produced by SCA MFA alumni , who's also Theatre Replacement's  Managing Producer, MINE is inspired by Yamamoto's interactions with her own young son, who is obsessed with the popular video game Minecraft. Staged by a group of "gamer/performers between the ages of 11 and 46," MINE offers "an intergenerational performance that both interrogates and recognizes the role technology plays in our modern parent-child relationships." Originally co-produced by the in November, 2018, MINE will be staged again on March 18 – 22, 2020, at .
