National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Following Royal Assent on June 3, 2021, September 30 now marks the , also known as . All of SFU's campuses will be closed on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. This NEW podcast is a lively series of conversations and interviews that delve into creative process and improvisatory approaches to jazz standards. Each episode features one of the songs on the LP: . In episode one, our three hosts talk about how the impetus for the LP came out of Carol¡¯s visual art project . A larger conversation ensues, about blending free improvisation with jazz standards; women composers; Tin Pan Alley; child prodigies; prepared pianos; and Megan¡¯s blog about Kpop. Subsequent episodes will launch monthly, and include a three-part interview with renowned Vancouver bassist Clyde Reed.
