The (CRPC) is committed to driving urgent climate action by empowering citizens and influencing policy at every level of society. With a strong focus on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through education and grassroots engagement, CRPC operates as part of a global network with branches in 10 countries. In Canada, the organization supports communities and municipal governments by developing case studies and toolkits that foster innovative and inclusive public engagement in climate policy development.

This research report, Advancing Climate Action Through Participatory Democracy, examines how participatory democratic tools—such as citizens’ assemblies, participatory budgeting, and advisory committees—can build trust, foster equity, and accelerate ambitious climate action rooted in community support.
