Design Evaluation of Fraser River Discovery Centre’s Online Donation Efforts
Design evaluation
By: Brandon Wan, Janel Co, Max Nielsen, Jennifer Ma
Course: IAT 432 Design Evaluation
Description: To help the Fraser River Discovery Centre (FRDC) increase its donor engagement, our team evaluated the usability and effectiveness of their online donation section. FRDC is a non-profit organization that educates the public about the environmental, cultural, and economic importance of the Fraser River.
Our team focused specifically on understanding donor motivations and evaluating the online donation experience to improve its effectiveness. To do this, we employed a combination of four evaluation methods: a heuristic evaluation, an online survey, field interviews, and a think-aloud usability study. Together, these methods allowed us to collect both qualitative and quantitative insights into the donation experience, barriers to donating, and users’ perceptions of the organization.
