Science Rendezvous

Science Rendezvous is an annual event aimed to promote science and increase science awareness and literacy. Each year thousands of young families come to SFU to learn about our science program.

MBB at the 2025 SFU Science Rendezvous

This past Saturday, MBB participated in the annual Science Rendezvous event, and it was a great success. Despite being located away from the main area and near Renaissance at AQ, we drew a very good crowd, which at some points was double lined up in front of the table. The young kids enjoyed the models, microscope, DNA and mostly the pipetting and many parents engaged and got information about MBB.

Most important, a huge thanks to Ziwei and Simon from the teaching labs for setting up what we needed for the event. They really went above and beyond, and their effort made this a success.

MBB at the 2024 SFU Science Rendezvous

This year MBB participated with a DNA Detective game that captivated many young minds. Many thanks to Irina Kovalyova for organizing MBB’s presentation at this event, to Ryan Morin for creating the clever and engaging activities, and to those that volunteered their weekend time to interact with our visitors: Natalie Morin, Maia Kovalyova-Pretorius, Sierra Gillis, Prank Govindarajan, Dheva Setiaputra and Mani Larijani.
