Message from the Dean

Welcome to 91ÅÝܽ's Faculty of Environment (FENV)!

We are a vibrant community of scholars, students, staff and alumni united by a shared mission: to advance social and ecological justice for a sustainable and thriving world.

At FENV, students combine passion with purpose in fields that are both meaningful and in high demand. Our interdisciplinary, applied programs prepare graduates with the knowledge, skills and values sought by employers across sectors. FENV students are versatile thinkers and problem-solvers - ready to adapt, lead and thrive in complex and ever-changing environments. Learning here happens in dynamic settings, from lectures, labs and tutorials to collaborative community projects, research positions, co-op placements and experiential learning opportunities.

Our research has local roots and global reach. In the face of pressing challenges - climate change, social and economic inequality, biodiversity loss and the enduring impacts of colonial systems - our Faculty is driving discovery and action. Across , , and , our researchers are advancing knowledge and identifying real-world solutions to build a more just, sustainable and prosperous planet.

91ÅÝܽ proud to be recognized nationally and internationally for excellence - once again ranked Canada’s top comprehensive university. I invite you to explore our outstanding FENV programs and to learn more about our faculty members. Our research, teaching and community-engagement is helping to shape a better world.

Our team is ready to answer your questions about our Faculty – whether to help you navigate your entrance to our Faculty, find your passion and community once you arrive, or contribute to our collective mission. Please reach out with any questions.
