Showcasing leadership, innovation, & team spirit
The BC MBA Games and National MBA Games are annual competitions that bring together MBA students from across the province and country for dynamic three-day events combining academic case challenges, athletic competitions, and spirited team-building activities. These events offer students the opportunity to showcase leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration while building lasting connections with peers and industry professionals.
B.C. MBA Games
The B.C. MBA Games is an annual competition held in late October, uniting MBA students from across British Columbia in a dynamic three-day event that blends case competitions, athletic challenges, and spirited team-building activities. More than just a competition, the Games foster leadership, collaboration, and innovation, offering participants the chance to apply their skills in high-stakes scenarios while building lasting connections with peers and industry professionals. Each year, the winning school earns the honor of hosting the following year’s event, keeping the tradition of excellence and camaraderie alive.
National MBA Games
The National MBA Games is the largest and most prestigious MBA competition in Canada, bringing together top business schools from across the country for a dynamic three-day event. Combining academic, athletic, and spirit challenges, the Games test participants' strategic thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills while fostering connections among future business leaders. National MBA Games occur each year in early January. The school that wins each year hosts the following year.
SFU Beedie’s success at the 2025 National MBA Games
SFU Beedie proudly participated in the 2025 National MBA Games, where our team showcased exceptional talent, determination, and school spirit. Competing against 14 leading business schools, our students demonstrated their prowess in academic problem-solving, strategic thinking, and creative collaboration.
Key highlights from the 2025 Games:
1st Place – Rogers x Google Pixel Take-Home Case
1st Place – Mystery Spirit Event
3rd Place – Overall Academics (Tied with the University of Alberta)
8th Place Overall
This year’s competition focused on Digital Equity: Closing the Chasm, emphasizing the importance of ensuring equitable access to digital resources and education. SFU Beedie was honored to support Canada Learning Code, a national organization dedicated to empowering underrepresented groups—including women, Indigenous peoples, and youth—by providing them with essential digital skills.
How to participate
The Canadian MBA Games is more than a competition—it’s a celebration of innovation, resilience, and the power of business education. Whether you’re a prospective student, an industry partner, or an alum, we invite you to support and engage with SFU Beedie’s continued success on the national stage.
Ways to get involved:
Team Captain: Link between Host School and SFU Beedie team. Represents and leads the team by supporting deliverables, ensuring due dates are met, works with Beedie Administration, comes back the following year to coach.
Spirit Captain: Leads the Spirit deliverables, ensures full team participation, sets up practices with the following sub-captains:
Fundraising Lead: Lead fundraising initiatives for Charity Partner, tracks team goals and progress, sets up fundraising events & communications for team to raise money for event Charity Partner.
Videographer: Leads the creation of the Team Introduction Video including filming and editing
Choreographer: Leads the creation of the Team Performance and supports the videographer with direction for the Team Introduction Video.
Social Media Lead: Capture footage leading up to and during weekend events, promotes team prep and activities on social media, link to Beedie Marketing for photos, videos, and team promotion. Leads in the Social Media Challenge events through Instagram and LinkedIn.
Sports Co-Captains (2): Leads the Sports Challenges, sets up practices, be familiar with the rulebooks for sport being played.
