Inbound exchange
Discover your place at SFU Beedie! As an inbound exchange student, you’ll find more than just courses here—you’ll experience a community that celebrates Canadian coastal beauty, global perspectives, and meaningful connections. Whether you’re studying for credit or joining through a non-credit program, your time at SFU Beedie is designed to be transformative.
Recognized as one of Canada’s top business schools, SFU Beedie offers immersive programs that invite you to learn alongside students from diverse backgrounds, exploring new ideas in an international setting. Our three campuses across the Lower Mainland—Vancouver, Surrey, and Burnaby—reflect the cultural vibrancy and innovation of the communities we serve.
Set on the jewel of North America’s West Coast, Metro Vancouver offers the perfect balance of city life and natural beauty. A gateway to the Asia Pacific and beyond, the region blends cosmopolitan energy with breathtaking landscapes—mountains, forests, ocean, and valleys—all waiting to be explored. From outdoor adventures to cultural discoveries, your exchange experience will extend far beyond the classroom.
What will you find?
Academics
As a student from one of SFU Beedie’s international partner institutions, you can enrich your academic journey and complete a portion of your degree through an International Exchange at SFU Beedie. You'll gain valuable insights through cross-cultural collaboration and exposure to Canadian and global perspectives in business education.
To fulfill the exchange requirements, you must enroll in a minimum of three SFU Beedie business courses. You may also choose additional courses with business or from other departments, provided you meet the necessary prerequisites. Exchange students typically take between three and up to five courses, totaling approximately 9–15 SFU units (equivalent to 18–30 ECTS credits). Please note that at SFU, economics courses are offered by a separate department and are not counted toward your requirement to take a minimum of three SFU Beedie business courses.
Explore all available courses through the SFU Calendar. As an exchange student from an SFU Beedie partner school, you have access to all undergraduate business courses for which you meet the prerequisites, except those listed on the Inbound Restrictions and Considerations. Undergraduate courses are indicated with course codes 100–499. 100–299 course codes reflect introductory or lower division courses; 300–499 course codes reflect advanced or upper division courses. Please note that individual departments may impose their own restrictions and you should review the Inbound Restrictions and Considerations for each department before requesting courses.
