Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?
After working for over six years with various international organizations, I have gained valuable knowledge and skills regarding how business operations function at the grassroots level. However, I wanted to deepen my understanding of business management and learn to think from the perspective of a business manager. These aspirations motivated me to pursue an MBA, focusing on the nuances of business through an environment of intense intellectual engagement with students from diverse backgrounds.
What has been your moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?
The program offers a perfect blend of theoretical and practical classes and projects, bringing out the best in students. This is backed by networking events where participants meet industry leaders and discuss how to apply their learnings in the business world. I am particularly looking forward to the Applied Project in the coming semesters, which will provide an opportunity to integrate my ideas with real-world business applications.
How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?
I found my cohort to be highly diverse, offering insights into various industries and job responsibilities. This diversity, combined with the eagerness to learn among students, fosters an inclusive culture and creates a welcoming classroom environment where we can freely express our views and deepen our understanding. This ambitious atmosphere also encourages healthy competition among scholars, driving personal and collective growth.
