SFU Beedie triumphs at 2025 B.C. MBA Games

SFU’s Beedie School of Business is proud to celebrate a remarkable victory at the 2025 B.C. MBA Games, held October 24–26 at Vancouver Island University. Our graduate students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, leadership, and school spirit, bringing home top honours across multiple categories and earning the overall win.

The B.C. MBA Games are a dynamic showcase of academic excellence, athleticism, and community engagement. This year’s theme, Business Beyond Sustainability, challenged participants to rethink traditional business models and embrace innovation, inclusivity, and responsible leadership in the face of global challenges.

Competing against five leading business schools from across British Columbia, SFU Beedie’s team delivered exceptional performances in every facet of the competition:

Academic Excellence

  • 1st Place â€“ Live Case Challenge (sponsored by Petroglyph Development Group) 
  • 2nd Place â€“ Take-Home Case Challenge (sponsored by Parksville District Chamber of Commerce) 
  • 2nd Place â€“ PechaKucha Case (sponsored by EcoTrust Canada) 
  • Overall Winners â€“ Academics 

Community Impact

  • 1st Place â€“ Fundraising for EcoTrust Canada
  • 1st Place â€“ Fundraising Campaign Plan Challenge for EcoTrust Canada 

School Spirit

  • 1st Place â€“ Mystery Spirit Event
  • Overall Winners â€“ Spirit Category, including the prestigious Mann Cup for Fundraising Efforts

Athletics

  • 3rd Place â€“ Canoe Racing Tournament by Nanaimo Prosperity Corp

These achievements reflect the team’s commitment to purpose-driven leadership, creative problem-solving, and collaborative excellence.

A special thank you to our dedicated academic coaches, Luana Carcano and Lesley McKay, and to Sommer Hines from the Student Experience Office, whose guidance and support were instrumental in the team’s success.
