Linda Coady
Biography
Linda Coady is an experienced leader on sustainable development challenges in Canada who has worked with diverse groups to advance new solutions. Most recently, she served as President and CEO of the BC Council of Forest Industries (COFI), a trade association that engages with government, First Nations, and others on policies and partnerships for a sustainable forest industry in BC. Prior to that, she was Executive Director of the Pembina Institute, a leading Alberta-based think tank focused on public and private policy innovation that can accelerate GHG emissions reduction.
Linda has held positions in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Her past roles include Chief Sustainability Officer at Enbridge Inc., Vice-President of Sustainability for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, and Vice-President for the Pacific Region at WWF-Canada. She also served as Vice-President of Environmental Affairs for the BC operations of forestry companies Weyerhaeuser and MacMillan Bloedel.
Linda has contributed her expertise on sustainability issues as a member of advisory groups to municipal, provincial, and federal governments. She currently serves on British Columbia’s Climate Solutions Council and the Softwood Lumber Advisory Council. In addition, she is a board member of two non-profit organizations focused on catalyzing new investment in conservation and sustainable management of natural resources at the national and international level.
