Timeline: Pre-Prohibition Breweries

BC breweries from the establishment of the first brewery in Victoria (1858) to the onset of Prohibition in BC (Oct 1, 1917). Prohibition is represented by a black bar. Breweries that survived beyond Prohibition are indicated by the extension of their line past the the Prohibition bar; see the Post-Prohbition Industrial Breweries timeline for their subsequent history.

If a name is truncated, hover over the entry to view the full name and dates. Entries on the same row indicate continuity, e.g. a name change of the same brewing company or a new company at the same brewery site.
