2024-25 Equity Compass and People Plan Annual Reports
I am pleased to introduce the 2024–2025 annual reports for the Equity Compass and People Plan, which together reflect another year of progress towards embedding people-centred practices and building an SFU where all feel welcome, safe, respected and appreciated.
Over the past year, we have reached important milestones in actioning the goals and objectives outlined in both the Equity Compass and the People Plan. These efforts are not only critical to our academic mission—they are also essential to fulfilling our commitments under collective agreements, university policies, and accreditation standards.
At the same time, our community has faced complex challenges shaped by economic pressures, geopolitical tensions and sector-wide uncertainty. Through it all, our community has responded with compassion and integrity. We remain committed to listening, learning and adapting in ways that reflect our shared values and our responsibility to one another.
Thank you to all who continue to support this work. Our faculty, staff, students, alumni and partners each contribute to building a thriving university community—one rooted in equity, belonging, and care.
Sincerely,
Yabome Gilpin-Jackson
