Keep studying—your final grades matter

Whether you're a Canadian or international student, and currently in high school or transferring from another post-secondary institution, your offer of admission to SFU means you'll still need to satisfy certain conditions, depending on your pathway. We'll review your admission once we receive an official transcript with your final grades, so if your classes are still in progress, stay focused and keep up with your studies—you're almost there!

Study permit for international students

International students who are abroad or currently in Canada must have a valid study permit to study at SFU. This immigration document is issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and can take several months to process—please complete your application as early as possible to avoid potential delays and minimize any disruption to your study plans.

Learn more about study permits

After you accept your offer of admission and pay your deposit, you'll receive an email sent to your non-SFU email address informing you that your SFU computing ID is ready for activation. You'll need your computing ID to enrol in courses for the Fall term. You'll then be able to access platforms like SFU email, goSFU and more by setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), a secure way to protect your personal student information.

Plan your courses toward your degree

As you get ready to enrol in courses for your first term, start thinking about what the path to your degree can look like. You don't need your entire academic journey mapped out from the start, but a bit of planning along the way can make it easier for you to achieve your goals and hit your milestones.
