Introducing Simon Says virtual assistant
October 07, 2025
91ܽ launching the AI-powered Simon Says virtual assistant on ServiceHub to provide students, faculty and staff with fast, reliable, 24/7 answers to IT questions such as VPN setup, Wi-Fi connection, and login troubleshooting.
Users can still access the IT knowledge base or submit a ServiceHub ticket for personalized help. Simon Says improves over time by learning from common questions and user feedback, while ensuring all data stays secure within SFU’s IT systems.
Tips for chatting with Simon Says
- Use clear and simple language. For example, instead of saying: I’m having problems with logging in so how would be best to resolve? Ask: I need help logging in.
- Provide context to your question. This will help the Simon Says guide you to the most relevant information. For example: I’m a faculty member using a MacBook and I need to access SFU’s VPN remotely—how do I set that up?” Or “I’m a staff member trying to access SFU Mail from campus, but I keep getting a login error. How can I fix this?” Or “I’m a student and cannot find my MFA. What do I do next?”
- To help improve responses over time, rate the responses.
