Ceremony A

Amy Eunbin Yang, BA (Hons.)
Communication
Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology

Amy Eunbin Yang graduates with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Communication with a minor in Print and Digital Publishing. During her time at SFU, Amy served as an undergraduate faculty representative for the School of Communication as well as the events and multimedia coordinator for the Communication Student Union. Her honours research examined how parasocial relationships between fans and K-pop idols are intensified through the monetary, message-driven interface facilitated by the communication app Bubble. A recipient of the Radio Station CHMB AM 1320 Award in Communication, Amy graduates with placements on both the President’s and Dean’s Honour Roll. With an interest in affective labour and fan studies, she hopes to expand her intellectual perspectives by pursuing a master’s degree.

Psychology
Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

Tiara Cash graduates with a PhD in Psychology. Tiara was actively involved with the SFU Students of Caribbean and African Ancestry, the First Nations, Métis & Inuit Student Association and many other groups on campus supporting both student life and the community at large. One of her proudest achievements was being an invited and featured TEDx speaker, where she spoke about centering contemplative practices for all people. Blake Mahovic, MEd
Educational Leadership
Faculty of Education

Blake Mahovic graduates with a Master of Education in Educational Leadership: Imaginative Leadership K-12. Blake is passionate about shifting the narrative around neurodiversity towards a strength-based lens that emphasizes empowerment and understanding. Originally an inclusive education teacher supporting students and colleagues, Blake has since launched independent work focused on helping teachers build empathy and supporting individuals in embracing their diagnoses. During his studies, Blake founded a community-focused business, captained the Canadian Rugby League team and contributed to nonprofit boards advancing opportunities through sport. He hopes to continue bridging education, business and community throughout his career.
