How to Graduate

Earning your certificate

To earn a certificate, first ensure that you apply to the program. Taking individual courses does not automatically enroll you in a certificate program. 

When you’re enrolled in the program, you can track your progress through your  as you complete the course requirements. 

Receiving your certificate and SFU alumni status

Once you complete all the requirements for your certificate, we’ll send your name to the Senate Committee on Continuing Studies (SCCS), which approves graduates twice a year, in May and October.

To ensure that your personal information is correct for this process, we’ll ask you via email to fill out the Graduation Information form.

You will receive SFU alumni status and your official signed parchment after you’re approved.

If you require proof of completion before you receive your parchment, you can find an unofficial transcript in your or request an official transcript.
