Takkadum Community Grants

91ÅÝܽ

The Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies (CCMS) at 91ÅÝܽ invites community organizations, groups, and members with ideas that anchor knowledge production, education, advocacy, and raising awareness about issues that are of import to these communities to apply for our Takkadum Community Grants. These grants can be sought to support conferences, events, projects, films, lectures, exhibitions, workshops, performances, shows, or capacity-building initiatives that are anchored in or serve community.

Takkadum Community Grants provide up to $500 of funding to support ideas for fostering community building and connectedness within and beyond the diverse Muslim communities across the Lower Mainland on Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and other ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish nations. Takkadum, a word that translates to progress, advancement, and/or surpass in Arabic, Turkish, Urdu, Farsi, Pashtun, and Malay, speaks to the values and objectives of this community grant.
