Description, purpose and use of records

The series consists of records related to the administration of internally adjudicated research grants. Records include correspondence, grant applications, notifications of decisions and grant completion reports.

This schedule does not apply to Funded Travel Grant applications which are sent with the notification of decision by Research Services to the applicant's department.

Retention rationale

These are routine administrative records which are required by Research Services for administrative use until the expiration of the total retention period. Upon expiration of the total retention period these records have no additional administrative, legal, or historical use and can therefore be destroyed.

Retention and filing guidelines

Grants are closed by Financial Services and no further transactions are permitted through the account.
