Tom McLaughlin

Dr. Tom McLaughlin is a Clinical Assistant Professor in UBC's Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, where he practices as a hospitalist general pediatrician at BC Children's Hospital. He also serves as medical director of the B.C. Children’s Hospital PIVOT (Pediatric IV Outpatient Therapy) program, and as associate medical director for the Slocan Site Redevelopment Project. He completed his medical and paediatrics training at the University of Toronto and the Hospital for Sick Children, and a health policy degree at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Dr. McLaughlin’s research work has focused on the implementation and evaluation of clinical programs that move delivery of specialized pediatric care away from tertiary children's hospitals and into patients' homes and local communities. He is excited to further develop implementation science skills to expand his research into the barriers, facilitators, and strategies for implementation of these types of programs.
