Can you tell us a little bit about your implementation science research project?

An acute asthma attack in a child can be a frightening and potentially life-threatening event. While prevention is key, successful outcomes require implementing robust, community-based primary care networks in collaboration with specialized asthma clinics. In Vancouver, we are working closely with local partners to design and implement a preventive care pathway for children with asthma, rooted in evidence-based practices and tailored to community needs.

What motivated you to join the Implementation Science Training Initiative, and how has the program impacted your research (or career path) so far?

I was motivated to join the Implementation Science Training Initiative (ISTI) to gain mentorship from leading experts and develop the practical skills needed to move my ideas from theory to real-world application.

What has been the most valuable part of the program for you, whether in terms of collaboration, learning, or applying what you’ve learned?

The best part of the program has been the diverse group of experts and scholars. Learning directly from individuals across various disciplines has not only broadened my perspective but also provided invaluable insights into the process of implementing and scaling up effective solutions in healthcare—and it’s been an enjoyable experience too!"
