Photovoice Exhibit and Creative Writing Workshop

October 22, 2025

Join SFU Indigenous Studies and the Centre for Indigenous Literatures, Oratures, and Media (CRILOM) for a creative writing workshop with Shoshone/Ute author and musician, , MFA, and a photovoice exhibit featuring photographs taken by the Grandchildren of Residential School Survivors across Turtle Island (Canada and the United States).

These events run in conjunction with INDG 211: Researching Residential Schools with Dr. Natahnee Winder. Responding to The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action, this course provides a global and interdisciplinary examination of methodology and the ongoing impacts of colonizing education on Indigenous peoples.

A late lunch will be provided at the workshop, thanks to support from the FASS Reconciling Curriculum Grant.
