Areas of interest
As an igneous petrologist, my earlier research has focused on the geochemistry of Mesozoic magmatic systems in subduction zones. I am particularly interested in how geochemistry and inherited zircons can help us understand the petrogenesis of A-type granitoids.
In this Ph.D. project, I will apply petrological and geochemical modeling to investigate the complexities of the magmatic evolution and eruption history of the Garibaldi-Price Volcanic Field in the Garibaldi Volcanic Belt of Southwestern British Columbia. A key focus of this work will be to understand the intrusive processes, timing, and recent eruptive history of Nch'ḵaý / Mount Garibaldi to ultimately help better forecast future volcanic activity in British Columbia.
