Imperial Entanglements, Global Justice
Hosted by SFU Global Asia and David Lam Centre in collaboration with the Xinjiang Documentation Project.
Please join SFU¡¯s Global Asia Program as we host members of Lausan Collective in conversation with local academics and organizers. Panelists will discuss Lausan¡¯s achievements over the last five years; ongoing political struggles in Hong Kong and its diasporas; and the challenges and possibilities of global solidarity work towards projects of Indigenous liberation, racial and labour justice, abolition, and decolonization worldwide.
Lausan Á÷‚ã is a collective of writers, researchers, activists and artists from Hong Kong and its diasporas who first came together in 2019 in order to translate and amplify left interventions in Hong Kong¡¯s Anti-Extradition Bill movement. Today, through organizing, translation, and original analysis, Lausan aims to build solidarity on the international left and explore radical movements in Asia and its many diasporas.
