Transform the SFU Experience
SFU named among province’s leading employers for 2025
SFU has been named among and for 2025 in recognition of comprehensive health benefits that extend to retirees, generous parental leave coverage and extensive training and skills development offerings.
Now in its 20th year, the B.C. Top Employers competition recognizes the British Columbia employers leading their industries in creating exceptional workplaces. Each year, the competition’s editors evaluate organizations based on eight key criteria, highlighting the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
The Top Family Friendly Employers competition evaluates organizations on a wide range of programs initiatives including parental leave, daycare assistance, adoption support, personal leave and flexible work arrangements.
"SFU employees do incredible work every day to support students and the community, advance the academic mission, and make a difference for British Columbia. As all universities go through change and transformation, we are proud of the commitment our employees make to SFU and we are also committed to policies, programs and processes that transform the SFU experience. These employer recognitions are a reflection of those efforts," said Christina Medland, executive director of people and organizational development.
SFU received the highest scores in the areas of work environment, financial benefits & compensation, health & family-friendly benefits, vacation & personal time off and training & skills development. The institution was also nationally recognized as one of Canada's 2025 Top 100 Employers.
