Biruté Mary Galdikas receives highest honour from Explorer's Club

SFU Archaeology professor, Biruté Mary Galdikas, has received the for her life's work documenting orangutan behaviours, mobilizing rehabilitation efforts, and advocating for their ancient rainforest habitat in collaboration with Indigenous communities.

The Explorer's Medal recognizes individuals for their extraordinary contributions in the field of exploration, scientific research, or to the welfare of humanity.
